The folds in rocks are signs of time, stories of transformations and pressures that have shaped their shape. Similarly, our emotions and moods can be seen as ‘voids’ and ‘folds’ that form in us due to life’s experiences. Each emotion, like a crease in the rock, leaves an imprint, marks our being and tells a part of our story.
In this sense, we can reflect on how difficulties and joys shape our state of mind. Moments of crisis can create ‘gaps’, spaces of uncertainty and vulnerability, but they can also lead to greater self-awareness and growth. Positive experiences, like light illuminating a rock face, can fill these voids, bringing freshness and renewal to our lives.
So, just as rocks preserve the memory of geological eras, we preserve our experiences, our emotional folds and voids, which together form our unique identity. It is important to listen to these emotions, understand and accept them, because, just like rocks, they make us who we are.
